They were one of the great pioneers of the late seventies punk scene. Despite the fact that they were much more akin to pop punk that being The Buzzcocks.
Unfortunatly they are shadowed by Billy Idols solo career. Just as the media was pushing New Wave over punk. A lot of the late seventies punk is terribly underated for example if you mention The Clash there would be no shortage of people who will mention Rock the Kasbah or London Calling. How many of these same people would recall White Riot or Stay Free.

From what I've seen from your posts, your knowledge of "punk" is also quite limited, but yes, I agree.
