PC demo for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be released on October 11th!!!

Yahoo Games (http://games.yahoo.com/) has announced today that the PC demo for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be released on October 11th at 9AM PST. Along with the news of a demo they have released some new footage from the game. very cool! Now I just need vista so I'm able to play in DX10.

Any idea if the demo will be s/p or m/p?

it's SP...prob be too short like COD2 demo...but if you play on the hardest setting, it should last a bit...no DX10 games will not run on DX9, that would be madness...at least not yet...

I forgot this is a DX9 game.. so I'm gonna get the 360 version at release. DX10 games like Crysis & I'll snag the PC version.

its a great game...but you'll need some power to truly appreciate it...i can only run at 1400x900...atm...

Yea, the demo is great. I'm getting a solid 50-60 fps with my new box I built - C2D 6420 / Evga 8800 GTS-640 / 2 Gig @1680 x 1050. Runs smooth as silk, but I think I'm still gonna get it for my 360 since my eyesight isn't the best so I'd rather play on my hdtv (except for DX10 games when available... because I really wanna check out DX10 for myself.)

hmm, i thought this (COD4) has DX10 tech?

(i'm really hoping that DX10 will be released in SP3 for XP...)

i got it running just about at 1680x1050...with dynamic lighting on medium...i got a 22" widescreen as well...looks well nice on that!


i can juuust about do the demo without dying, on veteran, the hardest setting...after about 5 goes...;)


definately up for the full game...i'm sold...:D

Damn, you are right, this game is SWEET! I hadn't really played it much yet, just put my toes in the water, but I spent a few hours on it tonight. So far I'd have to say it's probably gonna turn out to be the best shooter eva :)

I'm kinda torn between getting it for my PC since it plays so damn smooth at max graphics (I've got a 22" monitor now as well). but I still think I'll get it for the 360 for cordless comfort in my sofa & bed.

Are you sure they are putting DX10 in XP SP3? I heard maybe not.

I wish I could get the demo to Crysis, but I'm not gonna subscribe to fileplanet just to try it out.

it's a beta anyway...you need an authorised beta key...


i've given up on crysis until the proper demo omes out...


in the mean time, if you like RTS's, try out world in conflict...
