it's heavy as fuck on the system...
i can run BF2 in 1280x1024 everything on high...this, 1024x768 everything on low...
i noted on the boot up, it uses unreal3 engine...
bout time you upgraded m8y!
get a nice cheap 8800GTS 256mb card...ex value and overclock quite well too...

Maybe around Christmas. I hope.
I looked around for 8800GTS cards. All I could find were ones with either 320Meg or 640...which confuses me a bit. And they start at $289.
$289 is alot for me.

8800GTS is the way to go, right now, imo...there's new cores around the corner that will attack the GTX's and Ultras...
if you go 256mb you can shave somemore off...and they overclock like 20% as well, so i heard...
that seems a tad dear, tho...look about you should be able to get better price...i've seen £175 in tax over here, but the prices don't equate to like-for-like, i.e. that will not translate to £350...i've found it's usually about the same, so aim for LESS than $200...maybe even consider 2nd hand, esp if you know the seller and can back it if it's a dud...
i should be getting new pc soon, and i'll be getting an 8800GTS...
btw, got that monitor...it's very nice!

Good to hear on the monitor.
I'll keep checking of the prices. Like all hardware, they fluctuate often and who knows, by the time I'm ready to buy, I'm likely to find a solid deal.

yeah, i agree, but kinda threw ne for a bit!
anyway, you bought that 8800GTS yet?!
btw, i can also highly recommend surround sound gaming...
after playing online for about 7 years, like last month i decided to give it a try amd boy does it add something to your gaming!
(logically) you can actually position events by sound alone...you can hear things creeping up behind you and on which side...and a bass bin means i can hear the bass of tanks coming before i even have a clue where they are, it's quite cool!

Just ordered this (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16814122023) yesterday, as well as another 1 gig stick of ram, bringing my system up to 2gigs.
The card is nothing fancy as far as gaming goes, but a good leap ahead of my on-board video.
Tomorrow is my off day during the week, so tonight I went ahead and cleaned my system up. Clean install...it's been over a year, so why not.
(I have so much crap I had to back up and progs to reinstall..)

It's an 8500GT...not GTS...
I just can't bring myself to spend over a hundred dollars on a video card.
From the reviews of the card I got, it will run games I play fine. I doubt I'll ever play Crysis...though MOH Airborne, yes.
