The Israeli process for producing energy from oil shale (http://www.imra.org.il/story.php3?id=31531) will cut its oil imports by one-third, and will serve as a guide for other countries with oil shale deposits, according to one company.

In the US, Feds have cleared the way for extracting shale oil (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/business/energy/4333069.html) in Colorado.

It be cool if we utilized other energy resourses where we dont need middle wastern countries oil. If we could use something else and totally tell Iran we dont need your oil anymore, they would do what ever we say.

America is to dependant on oil as they are dependant on us buying it!
