LOL hahaaha at first i thought this post meant Tag the body spray for men. LOL. I thought is another religous loon cry. Then i google news and realized it was Tag the game.
My view, its pathetic, whats next, dodgeball, soccer, kickball ??? What do we want our kids to do sit down and get obese? People need to lighten up and quit playing the blame game and take responsibility.
here is a good article and it makes a good point.

Meanwhile with McKiever : Ban tag? What are we thinking?

When my daughter was just a few days old — almost 36 years ago — I remember holding her and looking at her hands as she clasped my finger in her tiny fist. I remember rocking my new baby as I watched students walk to a nearby elementary school. And I remember big tears rolling down my face at the thought of her ever, ever going to school. I couldn’t imagine being away from her.
Then I realized I would never want her to miss out on all the wonderful experiences school offers children.
Remember when you were a kid and how much fun it was to chase other kids and play tag ? The object was to avoid being caught or tagged. The person who did the chasing was called “ it. ” He ran after somebody he could touch on the arm or shoulder and shouted “ You’re it ! ” It’s an old, old child’s game that’s kept youngsters running and laughing for ages.
Well, kids in some schools won’t be playing tag anymore. Just last week, two Massachusetts elementary schools joined a growing list of primary institutions banning the game. The schools — concerned “ that accidents could happen” — require that the kids not touch each other.
All elementary schools in Wyoming and Washington have also recently banned tag during recess. They claim injuries could result, and the schools are concerned about legal liability.
In some states, the ban also covers other contact sports such as touch football, another longtime game at most schools. Now, I was never particularly fleet of foot.
To the contrary, I was “ it” more than I wasn’t; but I loved that chasing and running and laughing. I think it’s a shame kids can’t enjoy some of the old, standard recreation because someone might sue someone else. Does that make much sense to you ? I also think it’s a shame our schools have become targets of violence. I find armed teenagers and crazy shooters turning schools into slaughterhouses much more disturbing than a wind-blowing-throughyour-hair, heart-beatingwildly, fast and furious game of tag. But that’s just me.

Utterly ridiculous!
And, in moving to Texas within the last year from Canada, I am outraged that there is NO RECESS, here.
Yet, I get to listen to the representatives for the President call our children "grossly obese".
That 15 minute recess twice a day can do wonders to get the children some exercise, oxygenate the blood for better learning.
You have a bunch of kids who sit in school 7 hours a day, graduate, then go off to work and sit for 8-10 hours a day at a desk.
No wonder there is an obesity problem.
Sorry, I guess this belongs in another thread.

Same issue happened in Alberta this week. I'de hate for either the school board or parents or insurance agents or lawyers to sit down and watch an ole fashioned game of "Red Rover".
Parents need to support their kids when they break fascist rules. =)

Dodgeball is already out in some places. Someone might get hurt.
That was the whole reason we played it. :add09:

I agree with you 150%,,,,, so since there is no recess is there any free time the kids get in place of it ? Dont tell they make the do some lame drama club or draw pictures ? After lunch you got to give the kids time to burn off calories!
