NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF EGYPT MARKED IN BAKU

Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan arranged an official reception on the occasion of national
holiday of this country - 23 July Revolution Day.

Ambassador of Egypt to Azerbaijan Yusif Al-Sharkawi spoke of the achievements Egypt gained during these
54 years after the Revolution Day, noting that Egypt holds a worthy place among the world community.

The diplomat expressed consent from existent relations between Azerbaijani and Egypt, the friendly countries.
These relations, the Ambassador said, have been given strong impulse after the visit of the nationwide leader of
Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev to Egypt.

Vice-Speaker of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan Parliament) Bahar Muradova, on behalf of the Azerbaijan President
extended congratulations to the people of Egypt on the national holiday. She, in particular, reminded the ancient roots of
friendship between two peoples.

Ms. Muradova especially stressed that Egypt was one of the first states to recognize state independence of
Azerbaijan Republic.

It was also underlined that Azerbaijan and Egypt successfully cooperate on the international organizations and
Egypt always supports fair position of Azerbaijan in settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

State and governmental officials, foreign ambassadors accredited in Baku, public and media representatives attended
the reception.
