Further details. I've posted some news items with additional information.

One of those from Bradford uses the name "Juhayman al-Utaybi" online or "The Believer" on paltalk.

I wonder if they got "Abu Waleed" in the process? He seems to be very quiet lately. He's the person who creates the goldmine of CDs & DVDs about everything for the group and was at the London protest.

from http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-2036285_2,00.html

ABU WALLED (name spelt incorrectly by timesonline)

Not his real name. Filmed protest on camcorder and echoed “Denmark, USA, 7/7 on its way” chant. Thought to be east London resident in his twenties. Once threatened member of moderate Muslim Council of Britain.

PM me for further information. There is much more.

Students held on terror charges
Two teenage students have been remanded in custody on terrorism charges at Bow Street Magistrates Court in London.

Irfan Raja, 18, from Ilford, Essex, and 19-year-old Awaab Iqbal are accused of making a record of information likely to be useful to a terrorist.

Lawyers for the pair indicated both would be pleading not guilty - counsel for Mr Iqbal saying the charges had "absolutely no foundation".

Mr Iqbal was arrested at his home in Bradford last week.

The first-year forensic science student, who studies at Bradford University, had an application for bail refused.

Earlier, Mr Raja had made no application for bail.

Prosecutor Deborah Walsh said the charge against Mr Raja related to information he had allegedly collated and downloaded using a computer.

Senior District Judge Timothy Workman remanded the pair in custody until 16 March and told them they would face a committal hearing on 6 April.

Four men held after terror raid
Monday, 6 March 2006, 13:41 GMT

Four men are being questioned on suspicion of committing terror offences after a police raid in West Yorkshire. Metropolitan Police anti-terror officers arrested the men following the operation at University of Bradford halls of residence on Friday. A police spokeswoman said three of the men - two aged 18 and one aged 19 - are being held in London. The fourth, aged 19, is being held in West Yorkshire. The arrests were not in connection with last July's London bombings, she said.

West Yorkshire Police assisted in the raid, which took place at 2300 GMT. The Scotland Yard spokeswoman said the four were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000. A university spokesman said they were all thought to be students, but did not disclose their nationalities.

Five arrested over cartoon protests

Five men were arrested this morning in connection with last month's London protests against cartoons satirising the prophet Muhammad.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan police said four of the men were being held on suspicion of incitement to murder and all five were being held on the public order offence of "using words or written material to stir up racial hatred".

Four of the men were arrested at their London homes in Tower Hamlets, Redbridge, Southall and Waltham Forest and were taken to a central London police station for questioning. The fifth man was arrested in Birmingham and is being questioned there.

The arrests relate to the February 3 demonstrations when most of the vehement protest placards appeared.

Among the written slogans touted by protesters that day were "butcher those who mock Islam" and "slay those who insult Islam". Some evoked previous al-Qaida suicide bombings with "Europe you will pay, your 9/11 is on the way", or "7/7 is on its way".

One man who dressed as a suicide bomber was sent back to jail for breaching the terms of his parole on a drug dealing conviction.

The cartoons were originally published in Denmark and included an image of the Prophet Muhammad with a fizzing bomb in his turban. They were reproduced in countries from France to Yemen, but were not printed in the national media in the UK.

Today's arrests come over a month after the protests, which were widely filmed and photographed allowing identification of the protesters. Shortly after the event, the assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan police, Steve House, said the decision not to intervene and make arrests had prevented the situation from becoming "inflamed".

The Met established a dedicated investigation team named Operation Laverda on February 3 to look into the protests.

Asked if there were likely to be more arrests related to the demonstrations, the Met today said they expected "further developments later on".

In the early hours of this morning the Metropolitan Police, instructed by the British government, raided the homes of Muslim activists in London and Birmingham. These included the homes of Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad (aka Al-Gharib), Anjem Choudary (aka Abou Loqman) (Ex-Leader of Al-Muhajiroun UK), Abdel Rahman Saleem (aka Abu Yahya - one of the speakers at the conference) (Muslim Youth Organisation), Umran Javed (Followers of Ahl Us Sunnah Wal Jama'ah), Abdul Muhid (Al-Ghurabaa) and Omar Zaheer (Muslims in the UK). Arrests have subsequently been made and they are presently being held and questioned at Charing Cross police station (London) under incitement to religious and racial hatred charges. These arrests are related to a demonstration by Muslims on the 3rd of February 2006 who were protesting against cartoons that were published in various newspapers throughout Europe insulting and mocking the Messenger Muhammad (SAW).
