NEW ONLINE BOOK LAYS OUT AL-QAEDA'S MILITARY STRATEGY

An interesting new publication to hit the web gives insight into the thinking of an al-Qaeda strategist on the next stages of the struggle. Posted on the al-Ikhlas jihadi forum [http://ekhlas.com/forum] the work is entitled Idarat al-Tawahhush, "The Management of Barbarism," further defined as "the phase of transition to the Islamic state." Due to the strategic importance of the document, Terrorism Focus has undertaken an in-depth examination of the Arabic text.

Published by the Center of Islamic Studies and Research (an al-Qaeda affiliate), the 113-page work ‘Management of Barbarism' aims to map out the progressive stages of establishing an Islamic state, from early beginnings in defined areas in the Arabian Peninsula, or Nigeria, Jordan, the Maghreb, Pakistan or Yemen, and its subsequent global expansion. The author is Abu Bakr Naji, a name familiar from his contributions to the Sawt al-Jihad online magazine (which are republished at the end of this book).

By "Management of Barbarism" the author refers to the period just after the collapse of a superpower, the period of "savage chaos". It appears pointedly to be a method of not repeating the experience of Afghanistan prior to the rule of the Taliban, and of improving controls over the periods experienced, for instance, in Somalia after the fall of Siad Barre.

After ample prolegomena on Middle East history and the causes of the rise and fall of superpowers, the book substantially falls into five broad themes:

1) Definition of ‘Management of Barbarism'
2) The Path of Empowerment
3) The Most Important Principles and Policies
4) The Most Pressing Difficulties and Obstacles
5) Conclusion – demonstrating jihad as the ideal solution

Jihadi strategy

The ‘Path of Empowerment' theme constitutes the strategy of the mujahideen. In this the author further sub-divides into three distinct phases:

1) The Disruption and Exhaustion phase
2) The Management of Barbarism phase
3) The Empowerment phase

In the first "Disruption and Exhaustion" phase, the mujahideen are to a) exhaust the enemy's forces by stretching them through dispersal of targets and b) "attract the youth through exemplary targeting such as occurred at Bali, Al-Muhayya and Djerba."

At the "Management of Barbarism phase", the mujahideen are to "establish internal security, ensure food and medical supplies, defend the zone from external attack, establish Shari'ah justice, an armed force, an intelligence service, provide economic sufficiency, defend against [public] hypocrisy and deviant opinions and ensure obedience, and the establishment of alliances with neighboring elements that are yet to give total conformity to the Management, and improve management structures."

The "Empowerment" phase is an extension of the above. The policy is to continue Disruption and Exhaustion activities, at the same time establishing logistic links with the various Management zones. A conspicuous example of this phase is the series of events leading up to the September 11 attacks on the United States, which "destroyed the peoples' awe of America and of the lesser ranking Apostate armies." The fall of Afghanistan, the author explains, was either planned to happen, or was due to happen even without the September 11 events, and had as the result the multiplication of jihadi groups bent on revenge.

As for future targeting, this should be variegated "in all parts of the Islamic world and beyond it. For instance, in striking at tourist resorts frequented by Crusaders, all tourist resorts will have to be secured," with all the dispersal of energy and costs this involves. An important feature of this phase is the attention to be given to media and propaganda strategy, both for winning support and recruitment, and for deterring opposition. The media strategy should ‘target in depth middle ranking officers in the armed forces [of Muslim nations] to push them to join the jihad.' It should ‘aim at every stage to justify operations to the populous legally and intellectually … given that, assuming that our long struggle will require half a million mujahideen, getting such a number from a nation of millions is easier than from the ranks of the Islamic movement.'

Jihadi Tactics

The third theme, "The Most Important Principles and Policies," gives details on tactics. After discussing the necessity of establishing a proper chain of command, in both the doctrinal and military fields, the author outlines important military principles ("striking with the heaviest force at the weakest point; a superior enemy is defeated by economic and military attrition"). He further suggests four major reference sources: "The Encyclopedia of Jihad (prepared by the mujahideen in Afghanistan); the al-Battar magazine; the writings of Abu Ubayd al-Qurashi in the al-Ansar magazine, along with other works on the al-Uswa website; general works on military science, particularly on guerrilla warfare, provided the student rectifies the errors in them respective to Islamic law."

In the sub-section "The Application of Vehemence" subtitled "The Policy of Paying the Price," Abu Bakr Naji warns against the dangers of anything other than maximum violence as a deterrent, or as a response, even if the response should take years. The response, the author states, "is best done by other groups and in other countries than those suffering the act of enmity … to give the enemy the sense of being surrounded and his interests exposed … and to confuse him." An example of this method would be, say, in response to the Egyptians' imprisonment of mujahideen, an attack by mujahideen upon an Egyptian embassy in the Arabian Peninsula or the Maghreb, or the kidnapping of Egyptian diplomats, who should be "liquidated horrifically" if the mujahideen's demands are not met.

Stress is then laid upon the need to understand how international politics work. In the sub-section "Understanding the Rules of the Political Game" Abu Bakr Naji highlights how mujahid groups that refused to soil their hands with profane political calculations paid the price. The difficulty of reconciling Islamic legal propriety with pragmatic military interest is resolved, in the author's eyes, by recourse to the example set by [the 14th century jurist] Ibn Qayyim, who set Prophetic precedent as a preference, but not an obligation.

An important feature of this game, Naji illustrates, is the manipulation of the international media, and ensuring that the message gets through to the target, in its widest sense, and not just to the minority elite. "We must therefore set up an association whose purpose is to ensure the communication of our demands to people, even if this should expose them to dangers akin to the perils of combat … such as the taking of a hostage. After raising the hullabaloo concerning him we demand that media correspondents publish our demands in full in return for his release … Our demand might be a statement of warning or justification for an operation." An effective response to government media's demonization of mujahid actions is to prepare the ground by first demonizing the target as something Islamically forbidden or serving the economic interests of the enemy. Naji then gives an imaginary scenario of an attempt to adjust oil prices in favor of the people where a deadline is issued and an oil engineer or manager or journalist is kidnapped to ensure that the demand is fully publicized.

Points of weakness

The fourth major theme in the work covers "The Most Pressing Difficulties and Obstacles" that will face the mujahideen. These are listed as the diminution in the numbers of believers as casualties in war, the lack of sufficiently trained administrators (and the relative social distance many of these have from the rank and file) and the problems caused by over-enthusiasm in the behavior of some. Naji also highlights the problems that will be faced with old loyalties to other Islamist groups impeding administration in the new Management phases, or the threat of schism.

Importance of the book

The Management of Barbarism is one of the few works of jihadi literature devoted specifically to strategy. Jihadi literature is rich in works of doctrine and exhortation on the one hand, and specific pamphlets on military technology on the other. Tactical studies tend toward providing doctrinal clearance for particular issues such as the killing of prisoners, the problem of civilian Muslim casualties or dealing with the infidel. Strategy is less well represented. Other than the papers by Yusuf al-Ayyiri on the Jihad method, the closest work to this is the Tuhfat al-Muwahhideen fi Bayan Tariq al-Tamkeen (Gift of the Monotheists on the Way to Empowerment) by the same author as this treatise, which indeed may be considered an extension of it.

The importance of this work lies in the mapping, in the eyes of a mujahid, of the stages of a strategic program towards empowerment. This process is construed with a broad enough perspective as to make of individual reverses — such as Afghanistan — of secondary importance. While Naji illustrates how, for the mujahid, matters of doctrinal propriety carry great weight, he also introduces realism to the subject in his defense of pragmatism over legal literalism in matters relating to dealings with the enemy and its politics. But perhaps the most interesting emphasis is the role of the media. As an admission of the failure of the Islamist groups to build massive support, ample space is given to methods of combating government and western media control of information delivery. The number of attacks and threats of attacks by mujahideen on media offices and individuals in Iraq, demonstrates that the value of this arm of the strategy is well understood, and indeed appears to be following the textbook.

And as for in the knowledge of the legitimate duty then because of what from Allah by it on the scientists from the stationed militants in the ports or the fugitives or the captive ones who declared the right and showed that clarified the statement and its more an explanation and an investigation and a following of the jihad operations and the clarification of its judgements, and as for who denies that we had the right of the diligence in such issues then we say for it how it blames for us the diligence in the matter of war and fight, and we are more knowledgeable by it a reality and a Sharia who did not bear for it in this field a hand and no foot ؟ ! .

And we when we speak about the diligence do not mean by it the origin of the commitment of the jihad way, it is no field in it for the diligence but he is scheduled by the text and the consensus, and we are in it on Hoda and on a straight way, but we mean the diligence in a choice a specific square or a specific timing accepts the diligence and the sight .

As for we have intended to the maturity and will continue on this way God willing until for us the support or the martyrdom happen then we are in a profit on both of the states, and nobility that we have exerted our effort and as for the support then he is by the Hand of Allah glory be to he grants him who wants from its slaves .

And we ascertain that the most important Nasr is the preservation of the truth and from a necessary the correctness of the way is not the view of the support in the world then the support truth is that he works on according to the Sharia then accepts all of the results whatever it was a heavy time and for us in the makers of the pit Salwa and in Badr 's people consequence and Al Irmouk and Hetteen and Badr Bosnia and Khost and Manhattan Rajaa and any wish by the great Allah .

The events taking place since the New York and Washington conquests up to the present – like of the killing of Germans in Tunisia and the French in Karachi, the explosion in the giant French tanker in Yemen, the killing of the marines in Faylaka , the killing of the British and Australians in the Bali explosions , the recent Moscow operation, and some dispersed operations here and there – are all reactions and treatment in kind dealt by the zealous sons of Islam in defense of their religion and in response to the order of their god and prophet, peace be upon him .

The action of the pharoah of the age , Bush , in killing our sons in Iraq and the actions of America's ally , Israel,. in bombing houses in Palestine on the heads of the old men , women , and children in them using American aircraft were all sufficient cause for the wisemen and for your rulers to distance themselves from this criminal gang. Our people in Palestine are being killed and tortured for a century almost . Now , if we defend our people in Palestine ,the whole world rises up to band together against the muslims under the lying and deceitful banner or combating terrorism .

What business has your govermonts to ally with the criminal gang in the Whit House against the muslims ? Don't your governments know that the White House gang are the biggest mass murderers of the age ? here is Rumsfield , the butcher of Vietnam , killing more than two million people not to mention the wounded and here are Cheney and Powell who caused more death and destruction in Bagdad than Holako and the Tatars did there . What business has your goverments in allyng with America in attackng us in Afghanistan ? I specially mention Britain , France , Italy , Canada , Germany , and Australia ?

We have warned Australia before over its actions in Afghanistan not to mention its hateful endeavour to separate East Timur . But it ignored the warning until it woke upon the sounds of the explosions in Bali. Then its government falsely and lyingly claimed that they were not targeted .
If you are dismayd by seeing the male dead of yours and your allies in Tunisia , Karachi, Faylaka , and Yemen remember our children dyng every day in Palestine and Iraq remember our people deliberately killed in the wedding parties in Afghanistan . If you are dismayed by looking at your dead in Moscow remember our dead in Chechnia .

Till when will murder ,destruction , homelessess , orphans , and widows be our preserve alone leaving you with security , stability and happiness to be your own preserve ?

This is an unjust division . It is now time to get equal in the goods. Just as you kill you will get killed and just as you shell you will get shelled . Await then what will dismay you .

Here is the muslim nation starting by the grace of god to throw at you her sons who have sworn to god to continue fighting with word and sword to instil what is right and abolish what is wrong as long as their eyes blink and their veins beat with life.

Peace and blessings from Allah be upon prophet Mohammad, his household, and his companions .
In this gracious month and, particularly, in the blessed last ten days, we give our congratulations and blessings first ,to our brothers in Palestine and, second, to our Muslim nation , a matter that was delayed on purpose to coincide with the two operations of Mombasa against the Israeli interests so that the compliment is meaming full in the light of the sufferings of the nation at the hands of its crusade and jewish enemies .

In the same place where the crusade – Jewish alliance was attacked 4 years before , i.e.. in Nairoby and dar es salam , the US Embassies the mujahidun of al-Qaeda return to deal a heavy blow to this trechrous all iance , this time against the Jews . Doing so they send a message saying : your practices from corruption on earth ,
upation of our sacred places, and crimial acts against our brother in Palestine including killing children , women , and the elderly , undermining houses , cutting trees , and imposing injust blockade will not pass umpunished , even more severely , Allah willing . your women for our women , your elderly for ours, your forts and remarkable buildings are for our houses, and for the blockade against gaining life is the blockade of terror and fear that, Allah willing , will chase you on land , in air , and in the sea .
The mujahidun kept their promise to Allah , as to supporting his religion , and to their nation , as to cherishing them through directing heavey blows and carrying out successful operations , thanks to Allah , against the decepine crusade – Jewish alliance . Praise be to Allah before and after, they carried out the following operations :

1 - destructing the US Embassy in Nairoby,
2 - destructing the US Embassy in der es Salam,
3 - Destructing the USS Cole in Eden,
4 - undermining the two towers of the world trade Center in New York .
5 - attacking the pentagon,
6 - hijacking the US airliner in pennsylvania that was deading for the US congress .
The US went mad because of panic, terror, and astonishment at what it sees and hears . It could not bear such humiliating acts, thus it forced the whole world to come under its banner and join its camp, and, together, they launched their injust umprecedented compeign against the group of mujahid believers and the young Muslem state, thinking that they may be able to extinguish the spark of jihad and ehimiating the soldiers of Allah .

The whale world turned into a bureau of the CIA chasing those believers, forgetting that the Islamic fait strengthens in troubles and heartens during hard times . This is exactly what the mujahideen proved on the ground when they managed, thanks to Allah, to deal their blows and launch their attacks during a year of chasing and hunting, where, since the crusade on Afghanistan in mid Rajab 1422AH, they attempted and carried out the following operations .
7. the Djerba operation against the synagogue in Tunisia,
8. the popped shoe in the American air liner,
9. attacking the French military personal in Pakistan,
10. attacking the oil tanker in Makla, Yemen,
11. killing the Marines soldiers in filk a Island, Kuwait,
12. destroying the night club in Bali along with the operations carried out in the same day in Indonesia,
13. the two operations in Mombassa, Kenia, against the Jewish interests (i.e., launching two missiles at an Israeli airplane and destroying an Israeli hotel),
14. tens of operations in Afghanistan and else where,
15. other operations that were not mentioned for special considerations,
confirming that their strikes will continue, Allah willing, so that the whole world may know that the crusade against Islam and the Muslims has failed, so it will never succeed and will never bear the fruits their wagers, that is, the Christians and the Jews, hope, just because it is a war between faith and disbelief, between the right and the wrong, between justice and injustice, and Allah will give victory to his religion and support His mujahid servants.
The two operations of Mombassa, Kenia, against Israeli targets took place in such time to stress some important facts and special indications as the following:

1- the mujahideen succeeded in reaching their carefully chosen target while the whole world is standing against them, and even chasing them every where, an indicator of the fragility and disintegration of the campaign and its helplessness before the mujahideen’s and strikes, which are successful, thanks to Allah.

2- the two operations also came to destroy all the dreams of the crusade _ Jewish alliance of securing their strategic interests in the region. A they also stress the failure of the US and its allies, who mobilized their fleets to encircle and siege the African Horn with the aim of chasing the mujahideen in the area, denying them access to it or receiving supplies, and assuring that such operations, which took place 4 years age, are not to be repeated,

3- thanks to Allah, the two operations came as another blow to the Israeli Mused ( as done before them with attacking the synagogue in Garaba, and to the US security agencies ) to put an end to the legend that it is able to penetrate and reach whosoever, which terrified the whole world, and to cut the arm that Sharon said will punish whoever think of destabilizing the Israeli security, internally or externally !!

4- they also came to affirm that the peoples who raise murders and war criminals to power ( as the Americans and the Jews do ), will bear the consequences of their deeds, and will not escape Allah’s revenge at the hands of his mujahid servants. A tangible proof is taken from the operation in Bali and its ramifications, which left the enemies of Islam every where restless,

5- they also came as a good Omen for Muslims everywhere that the Mujahideen are consolidating with their brothers in Palestine, going on their way, seeking Allah’s reward for what is done unite them, intending to restore the dignity of their nation, and, thanks to Allah alone, still have the initiative and the ability to attack the enemy and strike its vital interests as appropriate to them in time and place,

6- finally, the two operations came to declare that the Muslims nation, rank and file, is just one unified front against this enemy and the declared assault on the Muslims.

We are here to call upon our brown brothers in this continent, who suffered most of colonization, having robbed them of their lauds, plundered their wealth, and denied them the least of human rights, to follow the model of the heroes of the two operations of Mombassa in order to make it hell for the Jews and the crusaders.
At the conclusion, we call upon the Muslims from the four point of the compass to consolidate and unify, and discard all their differences, and we call upon them to shoulder their full responsibility before this crusade Jewish attack, which aims at eliminating the Muslims, distorting their creed, upying their land, and plundering their wealth’s. Let it be know to the Muslims that the victim hood complex, from which we suffered for more than a century, is gone, and the years of defeat and absent _ mindedness, the enemy wanted for us, have changed, thanks to Allah, to victory and pride.

We have been attentively and carefully following the preparations for war by the crusaders to
upy the former capital of Islam and plunder the wealth of muslims placing a client government over you to follow its masters in Washington and Tel Aviv like the rest of the other traitor and agent arab governments pending the establishment of the state of greater Israel. Nearing this unjust war we would like to stress some important ideas on this infidel and transgressor war waged by the Americans and their allies and agents .
One : we should have a single and sincere intent of fighting for god alone with no partner and not to uphold nationalities or the un Islamic regimes in the arab countries including Iraq .
God said : "the believers fight for allah and the infidels fight for tyranny . Fight the followers of the devil for the cunning of the devil is weak .

Two : We remind that victory comes from God alone . We have o
y to prepare and call for jihad God Almighty said : "O; believers ' if you fight for the cause of God ' He will grant you victory and give you steadfastness. We should also avoid the rest of major sins like drinking wine, fornication ,anger and perjury we must hasten to good deeds particularly intense remembrance of God befor going to battle. AboEl Darda said :Make good deeds before battle for you fight with them .
Three : our fighting and defense against the American enemy it is important to know that it basically relies in its fighting on the psychological war in view of the massive propaganda machine at its disposal as well as on intensive air bom bardment .

Itg does this to hide its main point of weakness which is fear, cowardice and the absence of the spirit of fighting in the American army those soldiers fully know that their government is unjust and lying .
They have no just cause to defend but they fight for the capitalists the usurers and the merchants of weapons including the criminal gang in the White House as well as, of course, the crusading grudge and the personal grudges of Bush senior .

We also realized that the best most effective and available means to neutralize the air might of the crusading enemy is to build large numbers of covered and strong ditches In a previous talk I pointed to the great battle of Tora Bora last year in which faith triumphed over all the material forces of the evil-doers by holding to principles and by the grace of God

I will give you some details of this big battle to prove the extent of their cowardice ,on the one hand , and the effect of ditches in draining their power on the other .

We numbered 300 mujahideen and we dug 100 trenches over on area of no more than one square mile,i.e. one trench for each three of our brother fighters to reduce heavy losses as a result of the bombing .
Since theEarly hours of the American campaign on October 7,2002 our positions were subjected to heavy bombing which continued interminttently up to a month. After that a very intense bombing started particularly after the american command became certain that some Al Qaeda leaderships, including the mujahid brother Dr.Ayman Al Zawahry ,were present in the area.

Bombing became round the clock and hardly a second passed without military aircraft flying over us by day or night .The operations rooms of the american department of defense with all their allied powers concentrated to wipe out this small plot of land .The planes poured hell over us particularly as they had by then finished their basic mission in Afghanistan.The American forces bombed us with smart and heavy bombs weiging thousands of ponuds us well as with cluster and anti cave fuel bombs. Bombers like B-52s hovered overhead for more than two hours dropping 20 to 30 bombs every time and the new version of c-130 s dropped explosive carpets and other new types of explosives on us by night.Despite this massive bombing and the unprecedentedly media campaign on such small area of land besieged from all sides there were the forces of the hypocrites that they sent to fight us for half a month continuously.We threw back all their daily waves, by grace of God, and each time they were turned back carrying their dead and wounded.Without all this the American forces could not have dared storm our positions.what can be more indicative of their cowardice and fear and lying in their alleged propaganda to their troops .The outcome of the battle was a miserable,huge failure for the forces of evil facing a small group of 300 fighters inside their trenches in an area of one square mile and in temperatures of minus 10.Our losses were about 6%whom we ask God to accept as martyrs. Our losses in trenches ,thank God , were 2%. The forces of world evil could not achieve their goal as a small number of mujahids with very poor means held them, how can these evil forces dominate over the whole world. This is impossible,God willing, if people hold on and persist in fighting . Our muslim brothers in Iraq, do not be awed by the lies America circulates about their power and their smart laser – giu
ded bombs .

The smart bombs havent had any effect in the midst of and over trenches dug in plains and vegetation . They must have visible targets . Well concealed targets and camouflaged trenches can o
y be blindly hit at by smart bombs and this wastes the ammunition of the enemy . Take then to the digging many trenches as omar was reported as saying :"use land as a sheild" The enemy's production of these bombs can be thus finished in a few weeks,as for their production pwr day this is an easy thing which , god willing , we can take .
We advise that the forces of the enemy by drawn into nets of well defended trenches in plains , farm land,and mountains , and cities. The thing that the enemy fears the worst is the street fighting . It expects heavy casualities there . We also stress the importance of martyrdom operations against the enemy. These have caused setbacks for the Americans and Israel that they have never witnessed in their history before by the grace of god .

We also say that anyone who aids America from among the hypocrites of Iraq or the rulers of the arab regimes or anyone who is pleased with Americas deeds and follows it in this crusade by fighting with them by providing bases and logistic support or by any type of assistance and support even if by mere words helping to kill muslems in Iraq is to know that he is a renegade and apostate whom it will be lawful to kill or seize his property. God said :" O,believers do not take jews and christians as allies . They are the allies of each other . Anyone from among you who allies with them is from them ".

We stress that sincere muslims should act ,urge ,and mobilize the people in such big events and heated climate to achieve freedom from the apostate ,unjust regimes that are the slaves of America . they should establish the rule of gad on earth . The countries that are most ripe for liberation are Jordan ,Mor o ,Nigeria , the land of the shrines (Saudi Arabia) ,and Yemen . It is not a secret that this crusade is primarily targeted against the muslims regardless of whether the Baath party ,and saddam remain or go . The muslims in general and in Iraq particularly should rise up earnestly and struggle against this unjust campangn. They shoud get arms and weapons which is a duty incumbent on them . God said" let them heed their property and their weapons the infidels would like that you neglect your weapons and property and then fall on you in one swoop " It is known that fighting should be in the service of Islamic banners . The muslim should have a clear creed and banners in fighting for god . The prephet ,peace be up on him, said "anyone who fights for allah will be victorious". Under these circumstances it will not be wrong that the interests of muslims should meet with the interests of socialists in fighting against the crusaders though we reject them and say that the socialists are infidels . The legitimacy of those ideologies has fallen a long time ago . The socialists are infidels wherever they may be in Bagdad or in Eden. The fighting that is going on or about to come up highly resembles the muslims fighting of the romans in the past . The meeting of interests in not harmful for the muslmis fighting with the romans intersected with interests of the Persians and this did not inconvenience the prophet's followers .

Finally , we emphasize the need for optimism and the boosting of morale .Beware of spreading , fears , frustration , or reluctance : the prophet, peace be upon him , said :"spread the good omen and do not dissuade,"he also said :the voice of abi talha in the army is better than a thousand men,:"it was reported that a man told khaled on the day of the battle of yarmouk :how many are the romans and now few are the muslmis "khaled replied : the worse you said . Armies are not victorious by the numerousness of their adversaries but by the thwarting of the latter (or something to that effect.) You should remember god's words :" no prophet should take prisoners until he kills many enemies . " He also said : if you meet the infidels (in battle) deal blows at their necks . " let your attitude to the crusaders be as the line of poetry :

There is no reproach between me and you
Except the stabbing of kidneys and the chopping of heads .

I recommend myself and you to fear god in secret and ope

American commandos operations in Afghanistan

These operations, indeed, took place in the region; we got records of all the results, as well as the Americans. So we challenge their military command and defense secretary Rumsfield to mention them to the American people, or even deny them. Before narrating the mujahidin heroism, I'd like to pass quickly over the number of Arab mujahidin in Afghanistan during war just to tell the whole world, American nation and Islamic nation in particular, how horrible are the lies circulated by the Pentagon and propagated by rotten American media.

1. Mujahidin at "Jink" castle in the north of Afghanistan: 154 Arab were totally killed.
2. Mujahidin at the north of Kabul: nearly 550 Arab.
3. Mujahidin at Kandahar: 800 Arabs after the arrival of the biased brothers from Kabul.
4. Mujahidin at Khowst: 500 Arabs after the arrival of the biased brothers from Kabul.
5. Mujahidin at the Tora bora: 350 Arabs after the arrival of the biased brothers from Kabul.
6. Arab families all over Afghanistan do not exceed 250.

In other words, the number of all Arab mujahidin in Afghanistan was, at best expectations, 1900 men, 350 heroes were killed, while 180 brothers were captured outside the Afghani borders. Some of them returned to their countries, whereas the rest stayed to take revenge from Americans and their allies. The number of Arabs in their battles against Americans was (154) at Jink castle, (800) at Kandahar, (350) at Tora bora and (40) at shahy kot.

That was the Afghani-Arab force, for which America had mobilized its troops and her allies, troops as well. What a difference between these numbers and that the Pentagon command alleged!

1- Attacking the house of the commander of believers

After nearly 10 days past the month of Sha`baan, Kandahar citizens heard sounds of severe fight near the house of the Commander of Believers after midnight, which lasted about 2 hours. For the first time, the shelka C130-equipped aircraft was used in the clash with mujahidin. Such fight

urred for the first time at Kandahar, the groups of students dashed to the sites and the first group to reach there was the martyrs group, which moved at once nearby the region, under the leadership of Hamza Al-ha`ely, may Allah rest his soul; besides, Al zubair Al-ha`ely mobilized his people, and Abo Altunisy moved with a stinger rocket, trying to get closer to the site, then what happened?
Over the past days, US aircraft has been hovering over Kandahar, trying to provoke mujahidin units, which succeeded control their temper and did not do anything in retaliation according to our earlier agreement, which stated using available weapons against helicopter attack

y. So the quiet reaction of mujahidin deceivingly pushed the US troops to jeopardize attacking silently the house of the Commander of Believers to shoot a movie at it, then they intensively explored the area and after making sure of defenders absence, save a trivial number to keep the place safe from robbery, they prepared an adequate attacking scenario, relying on surprise and speed. But no sooner had the first aircraft approached the area, than it was surprised by an unexpected stream of shelka shells 23 mm, then machine guns opened fire, damaging it and everyone inside. Brave students violated their calmness, attacking the arrogant enemy, shooting down the first aircraft, and also hitting the second one which managed to flee.

Guards tried to check the aircraft and its ruined load but strongly interfered the enemy and its aircraft of all types screened the area. The guard flew to take shelter. A jet squadron covers the area along with a shelka-equiped aircraft to bombard advancement axes to prevent the mujahidin from remedying the situation. They also sent more than one C130 helicopters for close maneuvering and separating the area. When the enemy made sure the area was free as its guards, the Americans rushed to send a helicopter to left the wrecked aircraft and its dead crew. Over on hour and half of fierce combat, the US troops to separate the area and lift the dead bodies and flew. However, it fell once again, but this time in the desert. Just behind the house of the Commander of Believers where we found the cut-off pulley of the lift. But they sent another airlift to remove the ominous wreckage and cover the failure of the first commandos operation in Kandahar.

When the morning came, the torches of the American soldiers were in the hands of the guards of the Commander of the Believers and the wreckage of the aircraft is thrown on the battle field. The student were in high spirits because of the victory they achieved, by God help, in the first battle, where they managed to down a 20 man Chinook aircraft. News spread in Kandahar and Moslems were joyful.

The Americans covered up the matter by showing a video of their more futile operation in Safar airport, which we narrate as we heard it from area leader of student groups, mullah Naeem.

Americans announced at radio stations that they had carried out an operation on an airport in the south of Kandahar city, showing it by a video tape on TV. Thus, the hero Hamza Al zubair, may God rest his soul, suggested to go to the airport area, then I talked with Al-sheikh Aby hafs and agreed with him to send Hamza along with half of his group to explore the road, meet with Al Bolosh brothers in order to know their camp and how to arrange and deal with them, check the airport and understand the operation just in case Americans try to re-attack Kandahar again.

Therefore, the half of the group moved and stayed there for a whole week, and when they returned, told us about the conditions of the road used o
y by drug traffickers, and how they dealt with some of them in their way, and were about to fight with then but God saved them. They also affirmed that there was an old deserted airport, which had been under reconstruction by Al-mactoom to use it during hunting tours at the southern desert in Afghanistan. Mentioned airport is the one where the American movie was shot.

They got details about the operation from eye witnesses; they also brought some parachutes used by the Americans who ran away without collecting them. On the other hand, the operation details were as follows:
The village Safar is located at Helmund State in the south of its capital, and the airport is situated nearly 50 Km away, on an unpaved road in some parts, where usually no one goes except the Pakistani workers trucks, who are rebuilding the airport buildings.

This old deserted airport, whose dusty field expands to 2 Km, is situated near a dry lake, which can be used as a wonderful field. Mentioned airport doesn’t have any administrative units, however, Al mactoom started establishing a big administration center, consists of 2 Hangers, one is big and other is small, reception, mosque, maintenance workshop, room for huge electrical generator and rest area provided with all fir administrative services. Workers there were from Pakistan but they were evacuated 2 days before the operation, and it seems that they left the WCs doors locked in order to keep clean without being used, while the rest administration doors were widely opened.

The area around the airport is open, and the highest hill doesn’t exceed 20 meters. Above one of these hills, sited at 1 Km away from the airport, there is a location for the students, containing 25 Mujahid, which seems like a borders guard center. Those students are the region citizens, whose mission is to keep the airport and its stuff safe from thieves, then it is quiet safe area.
Consequently, the airport main specifications are isolated, deserted and protected by 25 persons, who were sleeping in 2 rooms 1 Km from the administration center. Due to train new soldiers on attacking and withdrawal operations, which is wonderful training target, the Pentagon command in USA decided carrying out the attacking operation movie on Safar airport after the developing failure either at the North or the miserable operation on the house of the Commander of the Believers. I can call this operation "Attacking the vacancy", and let's see how the commandos of the strongest country in the world operated!

The US troops prepared an aerial campaign to attack with accuracy on an explored target; therefore, they mobilized about 360 paratroopers, in addition to some helicopters and professional photograph crews in order to shoot the operation. After the 6 aircrafts had opened their doors, paratroopers started jumping out, and for the first time, they filled the sky. No sooner had they reached the ground, than they gathered and began playing their roles in the attack scenario. It was obvious that 60 person load represented the attack and the rest was just landing density. They started gathering their parachutes, putting them in bags, while the executive group left theirs on ground for fast performance; they lightened the phosphoric gathering signals, which made them look like lighting insects, moving in lines towards the airport at night. Then every group rushed to the direction of its own target, and as I said earlier, the WCs doors were locked (1 by 1 m per WC) so immediately they put little explosive devices on the closed doors to open them. For more suspense, they began jumping through windows, shooting empty rooms, but the scenario didn’t keep the way they liked, due to forgetting about the 25 students, who got terrified of the bombard and left the area, except Hafez Abdul Waley, who refused to give in to this force, he decided to attack the enemy and teach him a lesson, seeking from God to die as a martyr. So when Abdul Waley approached to the building, the movie was about to end, then he conflicted with the unaware troops, killing 4 and hurting about 8 persons, according to US statement. Finally, he got what he had wished, dying as a martyr. Therefore, the movie changed into unexpected disaster, Americans thought that there were another groups, so they at once asked the aircrafts to land and get the soldiers, leaving all their parachutes in their bags on the ground. They were too terrified to remember their old joy, though these parachutes are often to be gathered and reused several times, but seemingly they were in hurry, because of Abdul Waley, so they left them and fled.

The village citizens came from a long distance to understand the matter and realize to American power, however, they got busy with collecting the American stuff, carrying cars full of parachutes to their homes. Also Arabs arrived there and took about 10 main and reserved parachutes to Kandahar. I've seen the parachutes, and read its pamphlet, which had the number of times it had been used in jumping, besides, the responsible of the application's signature. I found that the most of them were new, and the most used one was o
y used about 25 times.
The responsible for students, Naeem, told youth about the operation and the heroism and guts of Abdul Waley. He asked us also to help them mining the airport, he was insisting on bombing the administration part of it. Despite of that failure, the Pentagon commanders and the political leaders didn’t feel ashamed, distributing the video tape on TV channels, to be shown as one of the successful American operations on one of the aerial bases of the students' country and al-Qaeda.

The Belush, the desert lions and the most futile US showy operation

El Belush brothers have sent a letter telling us of their battle with the Americans at the southern desert of Kandahar. I have mentioned before that el belush brothers had a military training camp near Pakistani borders, located in a mountain cave. It is surrounded by mountains from all sides save its mouth and thus protected against any ground attack as long as there are weapons and a suitable number of soldiers. Then every thing depends on the efficiency of the military commander and the arrangement of his troops. The Pakistani people push the American towards this target, hoping that they would erase this problematic minority rather than being accused of them. Thus the Americans checked the site, and all reconnaissance reports confirmed that the camp capability was not more than a platoon and that they were young men under training with no fighting experience. The Americans wished for an easy victory so that they would propagate it as the greatest ground operation, adding that it took place in southern Kandahar in order to give suggestions of its immunity because of being close the religious of the students' state.

Therefore, the Americans massed about 2 battalions (with about 1000 troops each) for the mentioned operations along with shooting crews and the like, to show how big the operation will be. They thought that they would achieve a quick victory and shoot a historical movie, but one does not have every thing they wish for. Today is the first ground battle between a thousand US troops, equipped with all kinds of aircraft, armors, and latest military technology against 31 Moslem young men, who have nothing but light weapons which may melt with the heat of the heat of US engines. Then cameras were turned on to capture the biggest disaster of the US troops in the first war of this century. Aircraft dropped their loads and left the shaking battlefield, with a cloud of dust and smoke enveloping the area. When the cloud cleared away, the US plan went to its second stage. Then Armored ground troops advanced and quickly they approached to act the final role of the scenario assuming that it was over and it was time to hold captives and show the civilized role of the US soldiers. Then armors got closer and closer. No sooner had they reached the area of the well-prepared ambush than the lions of Balushistan, killing and tearing them up turned the picnic into carnage. The armors that entered the area under the illusion of intensive bombardment were destroyed by 82 mm RBJs. The US troops were stunned and planners, before executers, realized that the scenario was not going as the director wished. The US fighters were taken by surprise in the battlefield. The armors ran into one another, killing fleeing troops under their tracks. The matter went out of control. The US masses began to vanquish before the group of believers: 31young men carrying light weapons fight back 1000 personnel, with armors and equipment, and defeat them. New came to us in Kandahar to confirm two things: first, the Americans are not up to ground battles. Second, they will not consider another experience in Kandahar, especially that the military force in Kandahar have, with God's grace, the expertise that can make a joke of the US for centuries to come, and we think the Iraqi people, if really relied on Allah, renewing repentance, then Allah will grant them victory even so soon.
